Job information:
➢ Location: Bayside, NY 11361
➢ Division: Ocean Import & Export
➢ Time Type: Full time
➢ Work duty: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Enter shipments into system and upload documents
2. Send arrival notices to customers
3. Send delivery orders to truckers
4. Send shipping documents to customs broker to clear customs
5. Enter costs and expenses into system
6. Check status of shipments daily and perform work in timely manner
7. Notify truckers of shipment availability, follow container deliveries and empty
returns, notify customers of delivery schedule.
8. Notify customers of shipment hold/exam and potential extra charges, keep
customers updated of status and charges.
9. Communicate with customers in a timely and effective manner.
10. Send booking confirmations and pickup/delivery orders for export shipments.
11. Monitor rail/port receiving export container time, coordinate with trucker and
exporter to set up pickup appt, follow up pickup and full container return to
port/rail.
12. File AES for export shipments.
13. Send shipping instructions to shipping lines for export shipments.
14. Issue Kepler Freight HBL to customer and amend it according to customer’s
requirements.
15. Send invoice to customer in a timely manner.
16. Send quotes to customers.
17. Request quotes from service providers.
• Skills & Qualifications
➢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office
➢ Detail-oriented, multitasking ability, and responsible.
➢ Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
➢ Team player with the ability to work on own without supervision when required
➢ Highly self-organized, able to plan and prioritize workload and manage changing
priorities to meet strict deadlines.
➢ Bachelor’s degree
➢ At least 1 year of experience in ocean import/ocean import operation is required
➢ 1 year of customer service experience preferred
➢ Communication & conflict resolution skills
➢ Decision making & problem-solving skills
